Last week Peter reminded us that salvation gives us something to sing about.  This week Peter is reminding us that we have a reason to rejoice in our present circumstances.  Our Salvation isn't just something we look forward to one day or something that we have to wait to enjoy.  Rather it is a daily part of our lives and gives us more than one reason to rejoice! 

I.   We can rejoice because our faith is real. vs 6-7 

     A. Testing is neccessary to prove our faith. 

     B. Testing only lasts a little while. 

     C. Testing includes mental and physical trials. 

II.  We can rejoice because our reward is certain. vs 7

      A. The Results of Salvation 

          1. Praise 

          2. Glory

          3. Honor 

III. We can rejoice because our fellowship is personal. vs 8 

     A. We love the Lord

     B. We believe in Him 

IV. We can rejoice because God's power is present. vs 9

     A. Overcoming the penalty of sin. 

     B. Overcoming the power of sin. 

     C. Overcoming the guilt of sin.  

     D. Overcoming the emotional distress of sin.
