Choice and Precious in the Sight of God

I Peter 2:4-5

Intro: Last week we learned that we are to put off the old ways of life that are not consistent with God's will for us and His command to love. We are also supposed to desire the pure milk of God's Word so that we can grow up. However we must now address God's plan for our maturity. We need to grow up so that we can join Christ as living stones in a spiritual house offering praise and sacrifice to Him alone.

I. Jesus is the chief cornerstone of the Spiritual House. vs 4

II. When we come to Him we become an important part of that Spiritual House. vs 5

III. We serve the Lord as His priests. vs 5

a. We are Chosen for His purpose.

b. We are Cleansed for His glory.

c. We are Clothed for righteousness.

d. We are annointed by His presence.

e. We are prepared His service.

f. We are set apart for obedience.

IV. We offer Him Spiritual Sacrifices. vs 5

b. Our Praise
