Isaiah lamented that God's ways were not His ways and that God's thoughts were much higher than his own. As we move through I Peter it's going to become increasingly clear that it is impossible to do God's will without faith. Passages like today that demand our submission to unlikely characters in difficult circumstances challenge us to the core. However, living for Jesus requires that we submit to His will and His purpose for our lives even when His ways are not our own. 

I.   God does put limits on our submission. vs 18 

     A. Illegal 

     B. Immoral 

II.  Our submission matters to God. vs 18 

     A. Our attitude is a part of submission. 

     B. This includes submitting to a Godly Boss. 

     C. This inlcudes submitting to an Ungodly Boss. 

III. Our submission is motivated by our love for God. vs 19-21 

     A. God is pleased when we are faithful. 

     B. Our testimony matters more than our circumstances. 

     C. The most difficult circumstances reveal our true allegiance.
